Step 2 – Surface Preparation
Surface preparation is one of the most important steps in having a perfect paint job. Those chips, scratches, cracks and excessive peeling on your vehicle left untreated or not addressed prior to applying the new paint job will leave you with a less than perfect paint job that won’t last as long as it would if the preparation was done properly. If left untreated and exposed to the elements over time, these conditions could ultimately ruin your paint job. Having MAACO address these issues as part of your custom paint job or auto body repair will ensure a paint job you love that will last for years. At Maaco, our estimators examine your vehicle and suggest condition repairs. We offer affordable surface prep options that ensure your MAACOVER looks great. Even though it might save money to to skip the surface preparation on your car, a little surface repair before the paint goes on can ensure it holds that gloss and shine for years to come.

Step 3 – Surface Sealer
Have you ever noticed how some paint jobs fail to hold their shine? It could be a matter of that old paint mixing with the new, creating uneven color and gloss. Sealer plays that all-important role of establishing a barrier between the old and new paint. This ensures consistent color and a higher gloss throughout the entire painted surface. At Maaco we offer 3 grades of sealer. The right choice is all about durability, and ultimately the amount of prep work needed for your particular vehicle. When it comes to the durability of your vehicle’s paint, sealer helps keep consistent shine long after the job is done.
Step 4 – Paint Services
At Maaco, we offer three paint packages tailored to your specific needs and budget concerns: Basic, Preferred and Premium. What makes each of the three services

unique all comes down to two factors: Longevity of the paint, which includes warranty/durability, and the appearance of the paint, which includes gloss, color match, and metallic appearance.
Step 5 – Protection & Finish
A perfect paint job deserves an exceptional finish. We recommend purchasing a paint job with a coat of clear coat for extra protection and added luster whenever possible. Clear coat paint offers both an extra coat of protection between the environment and your paint job, and ads shine and depth to your paint job when properly cared for.

Step 6 – Proper Car Care (this one is on you)
Properly caring for your car after any new auto body or paint work is essential to keeping it beautiful and long lasting. Proper care for your vehicle will have a major impact on the luster and shine as well as the likelihood of future damage.
When possible, try to:
Try to keep your car out of direct sunlight, but avoid trees that could drop sap or attract birds.
Avoid driving on surfaces with loose sand, salt or loose gravel when possible to avoid excessive chips caused by loose debris
Have your car washed regularly with chemicals and brushes safe for your paint job.
Avoid leaving contaminants or dirt on your car for long periods of time
Be choosy about what you use to wipe off or clear your car, the wrong chemicals or cloths can ruin your finish
Washing your car is a great way to remove unwanted contaminants that may be damaging your finish such as tree sap, bird droppings or bugs. It’s recommended that you hand wash your car twice a month with mild automotive detergent. Use a soft cloth or sponge to avoid scratching the surface of the paint.
Be sure to use this as an opportunity to rinse the undercarriage of your car to remove dirt, salt or other chemicals that promote rust.
Four to six weeks following your paint job, we recommend that you wax your car every 3-4 months to protect your new finish. Make sure to use an automotive wax, like Mothers’, that does not contain abrasive cleaning agents, such as silicone.
Apply a thin coat of wax using the provided applicator and with short, circular motions apply it to the entire car. Allow the wax to dry completely before removing it. Using a terry cloth towel, apply firm pressure to wipe the wax off using the same short, circular motion.
